Agistment

Victory Farm Alpacas offers agistment (boarding) of alpacas to both new and established alpaca owners. The farm, situated on the Canadian Shield and nestled in Lanark Highlands just north of Watson Corners, is only one hour southwest of this nation’s capital, Ottawa, in the midst of the burgeoning Ontario, Quebec and north-eastern United States alpaca industry. Your alpacas will receive individual tender loving care, as is the case with my own animals. Victory Farm Alpacas strives for excellence in animal husbandry, genetics, and fibre.

Alpacas boarded at Victory Farm receive tender loving care as per Victory Farm's usual operational practices:

o Individual morning and evening feeding based on nutritional needs;

o Yearly hay analysis enabling adjustment of pellet and supplemental feed;

o Free choice mineral supplement;

o Daily manure clean up;

o Annual immunization program for all adults as well as immunization of cria at 1 to 6 days old, 2 to 3 weeks, 2 months and 4 months;

o A bi-monthly parasite control (de-worming) program adjusted as needed based on risk;

o Vitamin D supplement for cria’s first winter; and

o Ongoing monitoring of herd health.

Discounts are applied for agistment of multiple alpacas and long term agreements. Crias are free to 6 months of age. Discounts range from 5% to 30%.

Owners must have full mortality insurance coverage on their alpacas and are responsible for cria registration and DNA testing fees, sheering charges and veterinary fees beyond standard care. Owners and family are encouraged to visit Victory Farm often and become acquainted with the alpacas.
